When we use antibiotics, some bacteria die but resistant bacteria can survive and even multiply. Excessive and inappropriate use of antibiotics makes these antibiotic-resistant bacteria more common. It can also lead to the development of “superbugs” – bacteria that are resistant to multiple antibiotics.
